Rebecca Grossman Sentenced to 15 Years to Life for Hit-and-Run Deaths of Two Young Brothers
Grossman was convicted of murder in the deaths of Mark and Jacob Iskander
A judge sentenced a well-to-do Los Angeles woman to 15 years to life in prison Monday for the hit-and-run deaths of two young brothers.
Rebecca Grossman, 58, was convicted of murder in the deaths of 11-year-old Mark Iskander and 8-year-old Jacob Iskander. The boys were struck and killed as they crossed the street in a marked crosswalk in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles in 2020.
Grossman fled the scene after the collision and was arrested several hours later. She was driving under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Grossman's teenage daughter, Alexis, testified during the trial that her mother was the victim of a false accusation. However, the jury rejected her testimony and found Grossman guilty.
In a statement, the Iskander family said they were "relieved" by the sentence and that it "brings some closure to this horrific tragedy."
